Mifrasim Institute for Psychotherapy Training & research at the School for Behavioral Sciences, The academic college Tel-Aviv Yaffo in collaboration with The Israeli Experiential Dynamic Therapy Group (EDT) warmly invites you to
participate in a seminar presented by Dr. Ferruccio Osimo
Intensive Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (IE-DP) with PTSD: a case of complex, multi-layer trauma.
June 18 at 9:00 Jerusalem time, 16:00 ACT (Australia), 8:00 CET,
2:00 EST, 23:00 on June 17 PST.
The seminar will be held Online.
Under the impact of a severe recent physical and emotional trauma, coming on top of multiple early traumata, a patient may present with highly complex symptomatology, including somatic, perceptive, sensorial, sleep deprivation, attention deficit, migraine, as well as anxiety, depression and suicidal ideation.
The seminar will illustrate the way IE-DP can accurately dose its Therapeutic Ingredients, paving the way to the healing process, even when we are faced with a shattered, dysregulated psycho-emotional system.
After a thorough theoretical introduction, a video presentation will demonstrate the steps and stages of an intensive treatment in this type of clinical condition. The video is spoken in English and will have English subtitles.
Intensive Experiential-Dynamic Psychotherapy (IE-DP) is an accelerated - thus cost-effective - psychotherapy model. It integrates experiential, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral techniques, in a way that gives shape to 9 major Therapeutic Ingredients. This makes IE-DP versatile, and suitable to treat a wide range of patients, presenting with diverse personality structures, symptoms, and motivational levels. The healing power of the real human connection between therapist and patient is at the heart of IE-DP.

Dr. Osimo is the first president of IEDTA, the International Experiential Dynamic Therapy Association. He is the founder of Intensive Experiential-Dynamic Psychotherapy (IE-DP), based on the pioneering work of Habib Davanloo and David Malan. Dr. Osimo's clinical studies with Malan, John Bowlby, and Leigh McCullough led him to emphasize the real human relationship with the patient, which is of the essence to selecting effective types of intervention. Dr. David Malan wrote in the introduction to Dr. Osimo's book Experiential Short-term Dynamic Psychotherapy: "Dr. Osimo explains the principles of his technique with great clarity. His special contribution consists of his detailed description of the various kinds of intervention available for dealing with each of the three corners of the Triangle of conflict. In particular, he introduces the concept of "maieutic" interventions for facilitating the full experience and open expressions of deep feeling (the word is derived from the ancient Greek for “midwife”). Dr. Osimo trained many EDT therapists and instructors in the USA, England, Italy, and Israel. The IE-DP approach is described in several articles and books.
