The Israeli ACT and Behavioral-Contextual Sciences community, and the Interpreters Institute at the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Academic College are pleased to continue the tradition and invite you to the third Israeli ACT conference:
ACT 2024
Come as you are.
290 ₪ Professionals
240 NIS interns, students and ACBS members
The annual Israeli ACT Conference is an opportunity for learning, enrichment, professional introductions, and community gatherings. From those taking their first steps in the world of ACT, to curious women and professionals who want to meet and hear, to experienced therapists and veteran community members - everyone is invited.
The third ACT conference was originally scheduled to take place a few days after the Black Sabbath of October 7. So much has changed since then, and the Israeli reality is not what it used to be. We are delighted to have the opportunity to hold the annual conference again, which will naturally be held this year under the theme of encountering trauma and pain through the lens of the ACT approach.
The annual Israeli ACT Conference is an opportunity for learning, enrichment, professional introductions, and community gatherings. From those taking their first steps in the world of ACT, to curious women and professionals who want to get to know and hear, to experienced therapists and veteran community members - everyone is invited.
We have put together a rich and diverse day, with many opportunities for familiarization, deepening, or expanding upon basic models, different perspectives, and new directions around the contextual behavioral world.
At the heart of the conference is a lecture by Mr. Oren Gerstenhever, who will present various aspects of working with trauma and loss, after 7/10, in a contextual and behavioral spirit. This is within the framework of his intensive work as a wartime war veteran.
We will also be able to experience live therapeutic work, in an online demonstration, which will be conducted by Ms. Joanne Steinwax. In addition to being a leading teacher and instructor in the ACT world, Ms. Steinwax has contributed greatly to the Israeli community since the outbreak of the war in training sessions and generally providing a warm and sympathetic voice, and we are excited to host her at the annual conference as well.
In addition, as is tradition, we will offer a variety of workshops on various topics: a basic introduction to the model for new participants and an encounter with new perspectives on therapeutic work for veterans or those with more experience. An encounter with a focused response in working with different populations and specific challenges alongside a broad discourse on integration in therapy. Didactic learning in a frontal and close manner and practical and experiential experiences in pairs and small groups. Exposure to different methods, diverse tools and tangential or complementary methods or theories.
*Visual Aids Exhibition*:
The conference will feature an exhibition of posters prepared by conference participants that assist in therapeutic work. The posters can be those that describe the psychological flexibility model or parts of it, key phrases in therapeutic work, drawings or pictures that support and promote therapeutic work, and any other original idea. We invite you to bring your printed poster with you and present it!
To coordinate a poster presentation, please contact us by email: mifrasim@mta.ac.il
Looking forward to seeing you!
Yours, the conference steering committee: Dr. Karin Stern, Dr. Elad Livne, Dr. Naftali Halberstadt, Nissan Ilser Foundation, Dr. Orna Stetter, Dr. Arik Zvieli, Ami Wiesel and Dr. Sharon Ziv Beyman
