The New Sexual Landscape and Contemporary Psychoanalysis
Sexuality in the Internet Age and Psychoanalysis
Sunday 08.03.21 between 19:30-21:00

Psychoanalysis, with its rich conception of sexuality, was written in an era characterized by heterosexual dominance. But in an era of gender fluidity and no longer heteronormative sexuality, the meaning of sex and sexuality has changed dramatically. This change has brought with it sexual phenomena that are unique to today's era. These include a vast array of new forms of sexual gratification, including: Internet pornography, cybersex, virtual reality, and teledildonics (the use of technological means between two distant participants).
This book surveys modern sexual culture and suggests ways in which psychoanalysis can update its theories and practice to meet the new needs of today's generations.
Aner Guvrin and Sharon Zinn Beyman will talk with Daniel Knepo about the psychoanalytic concept of sexuality in the Internet age. We will discuss questions such as: What new forms of perversion exist in the Internet age? How does addiction to Internet pornography develop? How does psychoanalysis understand polyamory, pansexuality, asexuality, and bisexuality? What clinical questions does sexuality in the Internet age pose for our patients?
The meeting will take place on 8.3.21 at 19:30-21:00
