FOCUSING - Demonstration workshop, questions and discussion

Dr. Ruth Messer Koitzky

FOCUSING (E. Gendlin) is a therapeutic practice of deep and unique listening to the patient's experience with special attention to the various sensations experienced by the patient physically. At the heart of this practice is the recognition that this listening is a critical key to creating change and thus to the success of treatment.

In FOCUSING, the therapist accompanies the patient in the listening process with presence and radical acceptance.

This special. It resonates during the process the patient's specific experience and carefully invites him to be in it as much as possible and in different ways. The use of listening to physical sensations also associates FOCUSING with the group of 'mind-body techniques'.

FOCUSING studies have been taking place at the Nafershim Institute for years. They take place every year in two courses:

  1. A basic course, in which the practice of FOCUSING is taught in 6 intensive workshop days, including lectures, demonstrations, and exercises.

  2. A follow-up, advanced course, in which continued practice and in-depth study of the practice and its methods of integration into therapy are carried out, without preference for a specific therapeutic language of the various participants.

Adopting the practice of FOCUSING into the therapeutic toolbox requires the integrative therapist to enter into a significant learning and practice process.

This meeting is intended for treatment professionals who are familiar with FOCUSING - in a basic way and are looking for an opportunity to experience it again in a concentrated day of demonstrations, discourse and discussion on topics related to therapeutic listening through this wonderful technique.

The workshop includes live demonstrations of the FOCUSING tool, questions and discussion.
