DBT 2022- Connecting and Expanding

The first conference of its kind and scope for dialectical behavioral therapy

This unique conference will feature lectures by two leaders in the field in the US – the president of the DBT umbrella organization founded by Marsha Linehan, Behavioral Tech/Linehan Institute: Prof. Andrea Ivanoff, who will honor us with her presence and also lead a 'master class' for clinicians around a case presentation (pre-conference workshop), and Prof. Jill Rathus, who has written and researched extensively on the adaptation of treatment to suicidal adolescents. Prof. Rathus will deliver an online lecture.

In addition, there will be an opening lecture by Dr. Yifat Cohen, Director of the Ofek Institute, on the dialectic between rigidity and flexibility in the various uses of dialectical behavioral language, and short lectures ('DBTeds') that will present diverse applications and adaptations of the approach. Two researchers will present new research papers on therapeutic strategies in DBT.

On the second day of the conference, after Prof. Ivanoff's lecture, which will present a global overview of DBT, there will be 8 parallel workshops, two of which will be in English and one in Arabic, which will be given by Dr. Basma Kilani, a senior clinician from Jordan. The workshops will present various aspects of therapeutic work using the DBT approach, and more importantly, there will be an opportunity to meet leading therapists who manage units, departments, and institutes in Amman, Soroka Hospital, Ziv Hospital, Shalvata Hospital, Ramat Hen Clinic, Dvir Institute, Modiin Behavioural Institute, Ofek Institute, Or Shalom Organization, and the Welfare Department in Netanya.

We are excited and looking forward to a rich and fascinating conference, and hope to see the community of diabetes therapists in Israel in particular, as well as new students and curious professionals in general.
