Annual Conference for the Advancement of Integration in Psychotherapy in Israel
"Perspectives on Integration in Psychotherapy Currently"
Professional and Steering Committee: Dr. Ron Nissim (Chair), Ms. Naama Greenold, Dr. Sharon Ziv Beyman, Ms. Osnat Cohen Ganor, Dr. Ruth Messer Koitzky and Dr. Aluma Reis.
In this conference, the first of its kind and the largest in Israel, we will look at the various issues and new challenges involved in the intellectual work of integration:
'Pre'-integration – what are the motivations for integration? How does an integrative therapeutic identity develop?
'Over'-integration – formulating principles for optimal integration, conceptualizing the philosophical principles of integration, using psychoanalytic concepts (such as the third and transitional space) to conceptualize integration, focusing on unity beyond multiplicity ('common factors' between the different approaches), and integrating models in a variety of treatment areas (such as addictions, marital crises, parenting, sexuality, etc.) for the benefit of treatment effectiveness.
Integration Where? – Emerging trends in integration, the need for a 'roadmap' and models that organize movement between different perspectives.
The conference will be opened by Prof. Paul Wechtel, one of the founders of the Movement for Research and Investigation of Integration in Psychotherapy (SEPI), who will speak about integrative thinking as "changing everything."
We will continue with a variety of workshops and lectures dealing with the "Clinic of Integration" and the encounter with the creative richness that emerges from the various connections.
We will conclude with an overview of integration and discuss the motivations for integration, a 'roadmap' in the complexity of multiplicity, and the issue of where integration is headed.
The abundance of workshops and lectures that will be presented at the conference following the call we published testifies to the wealth of development and professional activity in Israel surrounding integration-based psychotherapy.
