Intervention and initial treatment for victims of extreme events at various stages

Training mental health professionals in interventions and providing psychological support during an extreme event. The training will include integration of theory and practice from trauma-focused treatment methods such as EMDR SE MSI ACT narrative therapy and more. The course will combine theory and practice. Topics: The nature of the traumatic event in the neuro-psycho-physiological context: ASR, ASD, PTSD Memory during extreme events, memory construction and memory impairment. Considerations in choosing an intervention/treatment Emergency work versus ongoing work Integrating methods in intervention during a traumatic event, working with additional factors Treatment of old trauma during a current emergency Intervention methods at different stages - returning to the window of endurance Narrative-focused work Body of the course will be an online course and will include demonstrations and practice. Participants will receive unique materials related to working with extreme events and extreme events.
