Third term - 5 Tuesdays | Starting from 02.04.24 | Online course

Course Description: Training mental health professionals in interventions and providing psychological support during a traumatic event. The training will include integration of theory and practice from trauma-focused treatment methods such as EMDR SE MSI, integrative focused model, narrative therapy, and more. The course will combine theory and practice. Course Objective: Providing tools for primary care and experience in reducing the development of PTSD, with an emphasis on integration between approaches and tools and developing a compass for managing treatment. The course will include demonstrations and practice. Participants will receive unique materials related to working with traumatic events. Topics: • The nature of the traumatic event in the neuro-psycho-physiological context: PTSD, ASD, ASR • Memory during traumatic events, memory construction and memory impairment. • Considerations in choosing an intervention/treatment • Emergency work versus ongoing work • Combining methods in intervention in a traumatic event, working with additional factors • Treatment of old trauma during a current emergency event • Intervention methods at different stages – returning to the window of endurance • Narrative-focused work • Body-focused work • Learning and practicing a goal model developed by Mark Sherman, who has been used by many therapists during the last two years during the war in Ukraine and since October 7 in Israel. • Practicing a goal model that integrates all course materials Course dates - • 4 online meetings between the hours of: 19:30-21:00 Meeting dates: 29.01.24, 12.02.24, 26.02.24, 11.03.24 Each meeting costs 2 NIS. • 4 online meetings between the hours of 19:30-22:00. Meeting dates: 05.02.24, 19.02.24, 04.03.24, 18.03.24. The meeting is worth 3 NIS.
