Two-day workshop on the topic: Narrative tools and integration in psychotherapy
Dr. Ron Nissim
Over the past three decades, the concept of "narrative" has occupied a central place in the social and behavioral sciences, history, anthropology, and the arts. In the field of psychotherapy, there are increasing attempts to integrate it into professional, theoretical, methodological, practical, research, and clinical discussions. The purpose of the learning days is to introduce the concept of "narrative", to examine its theoretical and practical implications, as well as its ability to bridge different approaches in psychotherapy.
During the learning days, emphasis will be placed on the philosophical and theoretical foundations of the narrative approach, and several key therapeutic techniques ('maps') will be presented: problem externalization, exceptions, expansion of the preferred story, reminiscence conversations, and rituals of definition. The learning will combine lecture, discussions, and case presentations, while examining the relevance of the approach to the practice of integrative psychotherapy with individuals, families, and groups dealing with a wide range of problems.
